Prudence Mapstone
An all-too-short visit from the widely, well-known freeform crocheter,
Prudence Mapstone, certainly beautified the shop today! Prudence's work in
crochet is legendary, and she was lodging nearby for the few days conducting
workshops locally to students who had travelled from all over country to see her
and gain technical skills and inspiration from her vision for fiber.
Reports from the attendees were glowing--lots of inspiration, color, and and
work to create some of the unique elements and pieces that together might be
singly or used in combination to create fiber masterpieces. This was a
reunion of sorts also, having been in Prudence's first class, held now many
years ago. What a privilege to have a visit with the Marvelous Mapstone!

Debbie Bliss and Nell Bliss Store Selfie!
It is with great pleasure that All Points Yarn welcomed world-renown knitwear
designer Debbie Bliss and her daughter, Nell Bliss to the shop.
Although they were on their way to Seattle Mariners 2014 Stitch 'n' Pitch event,
they took a moment to stop in, meet customers, chat together briefly, and take a
breath from their hectic schedule.
The Debbie Bliss pattern lines and yarn name brand are very familiar to many
knitters and crocheters, so it is fantastic to finally meet the truly inspiring
lady behind them. Nell Bliss is a creative force to be contended
with also: look for more of her youthful, innovative designs in upcoming
issues of Debbie Bliss magazine!

Helen and Norman Koshak of Newton's Yarn Country Visit
All Points Yarn was graced by the appearance of Helen and Norman Koshak of
Newton's Yarn Country during the recent Vogue Knitting Live event.
Long-time yarn manufacturers, designers, and instructors, these two are among
the most well known and inspiring maker-merchants creating yarns in the United
States today. Each year, Newton's Yarn Country holds two national-level
sales and educational events featuring hand and machine knitting, weaving, and
crochet classes, as well as classes for Softbyte's DesignaKnit and Cochenille's
software programs. These well-attended seminars feature instructors from across
the nation and North America. Newton's website is
www.newtons.com, and there you'll see their
shop's events and class schedule. Who knows? They may be
visiting your part of the country soon!

Mary Anne Oger Makes a Stop!
May 27th was especially festive with the visit of Mary Anne Oger, machine
knitter extraordinaire! She was on her way to a regional machine
knitting seminar, and made a short stop. What a great break!
You'll know Mary Anne from her magazine, KnitWords, and most recently her
articles for Knit 'n' Style. Her current, simple to understand
designs appeal to beginning machine knitters as well as the more experienced!
Her web site is www.knitwords.com.

Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably Visit All Points Yarn
On October 8th, Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably made an impromptu visit to
All Points Yarn! How exciting is that!? In our all too brief couple
of hours, Kaffe talked about Rowan Colourscape yarn's new colorways, patterning,
and designer's inspirations. Brandon showed off a new scarf design, and we
compared notes on design publishing. The visit was a short, but sweet
wonderful time! Thanks so much to them!

symbols like the compass rose, we chose the yarn ball to signify the handmade,
personal touch of fiber and making we associate with yarn. We’re generating a

fiber artists alike. Pleasant, Excellent Customer Service is our hallmark!
